Luo Shengjiao (罗盛教) became a model for the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's humanitarian actions in the Korean War. He jumped into icy water in an attempt to save Cui Ying, a young Korean boy who had fallen through the ice covering a lake. Luo's padded winter uniform dragged him down in the icy water and he drowned. Interestingly, this poster shows Luo without his padded winter coat on.
