Scope and content

Qiu Shaoyun (邱少云) was made a Hero First Class after his death in the Korean War. In the battle for Hill 391, Qiu and his troops used hay and twigs as camouflage as they attempted to crawl closer to the enemy position. Enemy planes dropped incendary bombs to try to smoke out the Chinese, which caused a bush fire. Qiu, in order to not give away the position of the 500 other Chinese soldiers, didn't move, and burned to death.
