Photocopy Counterpart lease of The Polytechnic Theatre 309 Regent Street from Sir JEK Studd (photocopy) 25 Mar 1935 with photocopy letter of 26 Jun 1939 from Specterman regarding the carrying out of repairs to organ or effects following the sublet of the Polytechnic Cinema to Monument Film Productions Ltd.
Lease includes stipulation that the tenant can use the Hall between the hours of 11am and 11pm except for Sundays, Christmas Days and Good Friday for the purposes of 'conducting cinematograph [cinema] exhibitions and other entertainments'. The lessor reserves the right to use the theatre beetween 11am and 1pm with 48 hours notice. The rent is to be £80 a week with a £320 deposit. The tenant shall provide an efficient musical accompaniment to the performance if necessary. All performances shall be submited to the Landlord for approval. Includes regulations with regards to copyright music. Seats A18-22 are reserved for the free use of the Governors of the Polytechnic. The tenant is not to give any performance derogatory to the work of the Polytechnic.
