      Note

The Children's Party held in the Polytechnic each New Year, appears to have been jointly organised by the Men's and Ladies' OMAs. There is correspondence in 1951/52 indicating a falling-out between the two OMAs on this matter. It is unclear exactly the results of the dispute, however, the OMAs continue to apply for and receive a grant from the Joint Council to run the party into the early 1980s.
