'The second instalment of 'The Mystery Man' is to hand.
We find the first chapter of it very leisurely, and we may have to condense it considerably with the view of speeding it up. The second chapter is all right. The third chapter too, is good, but we would like it to be carried down to a more dramatic curtain. I shall be glad if you will send me a continuation of say, another 1,000 words, carrying the story forward considerably and finishing on a fairly dramatic situation. I shall be glad also if you will keep in view in future instalments to make the story brisk and dramatic, but, of coruse, avoiding anything luridly sensational.'
