            Royal Navy Second World War uniform made up of three pieces - the white short sleeve tunic, the collar and the navy wool jumper. The collar is blue denim with a white and blue stripe trim around the edge and is backed in white and blue cotton. It has long ties to attach around the wearer's chest. It has 'P. R. Prosser' (owner's name) printed on the rear side. The white tunic has a square neck and short sleeves. The serge wool jumper is the top layer with a deep V-neck to accommodate the collar.

            Dark blue wool serge bell bottom sailor trousers with blue and white striped cotton linking around the inside waist. The name 'E. F. ELLIOTT' has been stencilled on in black ink in two places, one of which has been embroidered over in scarlet thread. The trousers fasten with a fall front - flaps and buttons. The first layer consists of two flaps that come in and fasten together on the front of the trousers, these include a small pocket for the wearer to store a watch or pocket handkerchief. This layer is covered with a second fall flap that folded up and down. This being secured with four black buttons at the waist. The trouser legs measure between 12"-13" at the knee and between 12"-14" at the ankle.

            Dark olive green cotton parka with hood - to be worn with liner 2020.74.2 and fur trimmed hood 2020.74.3. The parka fastens centre front with a heavy silver coloured metal zip, with 'CONMAR' etched into the zip head, and seven metal press studs with 'UNITED CARR' etched into the back. It has two large angled flapped pockets on each side of the centre opening at waist level and a U.S. ARMY label in yellow on black sewn on to the left chest. There are drawstrings at the waist, around the hood, and around the bottom hem. The hood drawstrings have leather stoppers.

            The back of the parka is longer than the front and curves to a point with a small V creating the 'fishtail'. The inside has green plastic buttons around the sides, neck, hood and cuffs to button on the hood liner and body liner. The sleeve cuffs fasten with an elasticated pull tab and large olive green plastic button.

            Handwritten in dark pen inside the back of the neck is 1-HQ209. Manufacturers stamp in black on the inside of the hood at the back of the neck.

            Long sleeved parka liner made of dark olive green lightweight synthetic fabric and layer of cream looped wool pile to be worn with Parka Shell 2020.74.1. It is trimmed in dark olive green cotton. Around the side edges and along the top are fourteen buttonholes to fasten to buttons inside a parka shell. There are two tabs with buttonholes at the cuff of each sleeve. The inside elbow of both sleeves have an oval section made of the green lightweight fabric.             Dark olive green cotton and wool detachable hood with fur trim to be worn with Parka Shell 2020.74.1. The outer hood is made of dark olive green cotton with a wired brim edge. It has a double layered neck flap and drawstring around the inner brim with leather stoppers and an elastic loop across the top of the hood. There are four button holes around the bottom edge of the neck flap to fasten to the parka shell and two large plastic buttons on the right side of the flap.

            The inner edge of the brim is trimmed with brown animal fur. The inside of the hood is made of dark olive green wool or wool and cotton mix. The manufacturers label is stamped in orange ink to the inside of the outer neck flap (half of it has worn away).

            Double breasted fireman's half coat - 火消半纏 Hikeshi-Hanten - made of black cotton in a double-layered sashiko technique - 二重刺子 Futae-Sashiko - with rectangular unshaped sleeves, two pockets and a short back vent. It fastens with ten brass buttons in two rows down the front and a heavy metal hook and eye at the collar - one button has detached. The hem, front edges and armholes are bound in black binding. The sashiko technique has been used to stitch wide red stripes over the shoulders and sleeves, two wide white stripes around the bottom of the coat at thigh level, two rows of Japanese characters down the centre front and a circle containing a character on the back in white. Inside the coat is an abstract pattern of curves and a character in white using sashiko stitching.

            Khaki green military trousers in a nylon fabric. The trousers are fitted with zips at the waist and down the inside of the legs. There is a zip fastened map pocket on each thigh. These pockets have a plastic 'window' to enable the contents to be visible when the trousers are being worn. The trousers are fitted with internal air bladders over the abdomen, thighs and calves. There is a pipe stitched into the waist and down each leg. The cuffs of each leg are elasticated. Unknown
