Scope and content

Dark olive green cotton parka with hood - to be worn with liner 2020.74.2 and fur trimmed hood 2020.74.3. The parka fastens centre front with a heavy silver coloured metal zip, with 'CONMAR' etched into the zip head, and seven metal press studs with 'UNITED CARR' etched into the back. It has two large angled flapped pockets on each side of the centre opening at waist level and a U.S. ARMY label in yellow on black sewn on to the left chest. There are drawstrings at the waist, around the hood, and around the bottom hem. The hood drawstrings have leather stoppers.

The back of the parka is longer than the front and curves to a point with a small V creating the 'fishtail'. The inside has green plastic buttons around the sides, neck, hood and cuffs to button on the hood liner and body liner. The sleeve cuffs fasten with an elasticated pull tab and large olive green plastic button.

Handwritten in dark pen inside the back of the neck is 1-HQ209. Manufacturers stamp in black on the inside of the hood at the back of the neck.
