Reports circulate that J.E.K Studd is a candidate for the office of Sheriff of the City of London. Mr Studd is also reported to have delivered a lecture in February 1922 titled 'London Romance' which traced the foundation, growth and present activities of the Polytechnic. Reports in 1922 state that J.E.K Studd won the election to become the Sheriff. Image of the New Sheriffs ceremony at the Guildhall is also presented. The Lord Mayor elect is reported as waiting on the Lord Chancellor at the House of Lords to receive confirmation from the King in October 1922. The Prince of Wales visit to Guildhall is also reported in various clippings.
