Agreement for tenancy of Marlborough Hall between the Polytechnic and G.P. [Gar Plum] Syndicate Limited. Agreement has multiple annotations and alterations.
Includes stipulation that the tenant can use the Hall between the hours of 2pm and 10pm except for Sundays, Christmas Days and Good Friday for the purposes of 'high class cinematograph [cinema] entertainment' This has been crossed out and replaced in pencil with 'Shakesperian recitals'. The tenant is required to provide an efficient orchestra and shall submit all titles of proposed performances to the Landlord at least seven days before, for their approval. The payable is to be £25 per week plus 10% on the gross receipts after the deduction of entertainment tax.
