Postcard showing the London Polytechnic Chalets, with mountains [Mount Pilatus] and the lake in the distance, viewed from higher ground. Used.
Inscribed on the front: 'June 29th 02. Dear Eric, We are enjoying immensely this lovely place. Mother & I have been sat all afternoon at the edge of the Lake near the boathouse, mother in her lightest thin dress and without her hat on and only shaded by the trees you see at the back of the Chalet nearest the Road. Fishes have been springing out of the water after the flies, Steamers, painted all white have been crossing from point to point of the Lake and pretty little boats & steam launches have dotted the water close to us. We wish you all were with us. Mother sends with me best love. Father.' Addressed to Master Eric P Call, 17 Ryle Road, Sharrow, Sheffield. Postmarked, 30 June 1942, Ambulant. Stamp removed.
