1. Photograph of the start of the Marathon. Visible in the image is King George V with a pistol aimed at the sky, judging by the moving athletes one can assume that he has fired the pistol to indicate the beginning of the Poly Marathon of 1921. An identical version of this image can be found on page 38. 2. Photograph of nine cyclists jumping over a wooden barrier during what is stated to be the 'Cyclists v Harriers race'. Some of the athletes are wearing numbers on the front of their shirts. Visible is the number '34' and '31'. No date or names have been given.
