Scope and content

Metal Medal with blue enamel in shape of maltese cross. Obverse: central St George slaying the dragon surrounded by legend 'Polytechnic Associate'. Reverse: Inscription: 'A S Hasler. Joined 1928. Elected 1960'. In presentation case. At a General Committee Meeting held in October 1890 it was decided that those who had given time and labour to Polytechnic work shall have their names inscribed upon a roll of honour and shall become Life Associates of the Polytechnic Institute. The first date given on the medal therefore indicates when Hasler joined the Polytechnic and the second, the date he was elected as a Life Associate.
