            British Military Household Division Greatcoat 1970s

            Grey wool full-length coat, single-breasted, fitted on the body, with five silver buttons fastening down the front. It has an attached half-belt at the back, an open double pleated skirt, and a collar which can be pulled up, two hip pockets, and turned back cuffs. Sergeant stripes to the right lower arm.

            Calf length great coat in a heavy, woollen, khaki coloured fabric. Coat has a turn down collar and large lapels. Coat is double breasted and front fastening. Eight domed, gold buttons sit at the front of the coat, four on either side of the opening. These buttons display the regimental crest of the Yorkshire and Lancashire Regiment [a tiger surmounted by a Tudor rose]. Under these on the right side, there are two small, brown, plastic buttons which fasten through two corresponding, concealed tabs which are inside the left side of the jacket. There is a double hook and eye fastening at the collar. At either side of the waist there is a jetted pocket with a flap. Straps can be found at the shoulders, each fastened with a matching gold button. Each sleeve has a large, turn back cuff which is about 14cm in depth. At the reverse of the coat there is pleat which runs down the centre seam of the coat from the shoulder blades to the waist. There is a large dart on either side of the centre seam, from armpit level to just below the waist. Under this there is a vent, 64cm in length, that runs from thigh level to the hem and can be buttoned closed by a small, brown plastic button. A half belt is found at waist level on the back of the coat and is secured by three gold buttons that match the others on the coat. The coat is lined in a khaki serge fabric to just over 3/4 of the way down. On the left side at chest level, there is a vertical, jetted pocket which sits approximately 13cm in from the opening. Buttoned to the lining next to this is a triangular piece of fabric in an identical wool to the outer which can be buttoned to the collar of the jacket to act as a 'throat guard.' British Army

            Long cut mackintosh in a khaki green, rubberised cotton. It has a turn down collar with a hook and eye fastening where the collar meets the lapel. The coat is front fastening via four brown, tortoise shell buttons on a concealed button placket. Just above the third button on either side of the concealed placket sits the corresponding parts of a small, adjustable strap and buckle fastening which can be adjusted for added security. A small, slanted, jetted pocket can be found above this. Above this pocket, is a rounded triangle of the mackintosh fabric attached to the inner of the coat by two buttons. This can be attached to the collar as a 'throat guard' when required. On the front of the jacket there is a large, flap pocket on either side of the opening at waist level. The mackintosh has an adjustable waist belt with a buckle fastening that threads through two large belt loops to the reverse of coat. There is a 59cm vent at the reverse of the jacket that runs up from the hem. The inside of the mackintosh is s half lined with a brown and orange cotton plaid.             Heavy black rubberised double breasted raincoat. It has ten brown polished wooden buttons down the centre front with two more securing the full length storm guard. All features are to ensure maximum protection against the weather. The large collar has a throat guard and all seams are stitchws and heat sealed to ensure they remain waterproof. There are two large grommeted front patch pockets with each pocket bag extending up onto the flap to allow for more protection against the weather. It has two internal pockets and an internal storm flap. It features traditional epaulettes that fasten with poppers with 'Newey Brothers Ltd Bham' and 'Newey Pat. 201430-22' engraved into the poppers. The belt is sewn into the centre back and held in place with belt loops positioned on the side seams. It has a black metal slider. The coat has a buttoning rear vent and hidden elasticated storm cuffs that are adjustable via two wooden buttons. It also has a black cotton tape sewn into the neck as a hanging loop. The coat is unlined.

            Single-breasted rubberized khaki cotton long coat with detachable belt and extra large patch pockets with flaps to the front. It has a turn down collar with a hook and eye fastening where the collar meets the lapel and a button hole to the left lapel. It fastens with three large mottled brown plastic buttons and a concealed button placket. The patch pockets have been glued to the front of the coat, they have a jetted slit on the inside allowing access and an internal tab and button to fasten. Under each arm are ten metal eyelet holes for ventilation. There is a centre back seam with long vent and on the inside is a large inverted pleated flap to cover the vent. There are belt loops to each side seam at waist level and the belt has a rectangular leather covered buckle and metal eyelet holes.

            The coat has a brown and beige tartan lining to the upper back with ‘REGGANWEAR’ label to the centre. There is a detachable neck guard buttoned to the centre left opening and a small jetted pocket inside the placket. All of the seams are finished with wide tapes of material glued over the seams.

            Full length raglan sleeved rubbed motorcycle coat worn by French military occupation forces in Germany, 1945. It has an olive green wool collar and is double breasted and can fasten both ways, providing ample wrap. There are three large rounded metal shank buttons on each side with a central tab that fastens to a flat button at waist height. It has two large flat pockets and a slanted right chest jetted pocket. The pleated cuffs have adjustable tabs with two buttons on each. It has a large central back pleat and a long buttoned single back vent.

            Full length raglan sleeved navy British Police riding coat. It fastens with four black buttons at the centre front behind a concealed button stand and has an angled leather strap below the last button to keep the coat closed when mounted. It has a large collar with throat guard attached. The front features two large flap pockets with the topstitched pocket bags that have additional internal taping. The seams on the coat are all topstitched and are supported with extra fabric glued internally to ensure a waterproof seal. The cuffs have internal waterproof elasticated cuffs that fasten with poppers and the hem and the cuffs also have an extra strip of rubber attached for further weatherproofing. There are two internal straps to attach to the wearer's legs to ensure the coat remains in place when riding. Both armholes have five grommetts to allow for ventilation. It has a large back pleated vent to allow for extra movement when worn on a horse. The shoulders both have loops with buttons sewn at the neck for the attachment of police insignia.

            Dark blue unisex trenchcoat is exaggeratedly-cut and simply made from rectangles of waterproofed cotton. It has a modular construction with curved pointed seams echoing the Witches theme. It features smock pleating on both sides secured with a tab and the back has a pleated vent. It has three belt loops across the back and sides (none at the front) and a cotton belt with four lines of topstitching that is attached at the centre back belt loop. The coat does not feature any other centre front fastening. The back has a curved pointed loose storm flap and a curved flap on the front right. It has large curved welt pockets and curved lapels. It is unlined.
