Scope and content

Full length raglan sleeved navy British Police riding coat. It fastens with four black buttons at the centre front behind a concealed button stand and has an angled leather strap below the last button to keep the coat closed when mounted. It has a large collar with throat guard attached. The front features two large flap pockets with the topstitched pocket bags that have additional internal taping. The seams on the coat are all topstitched and are supported with extra fabric glued internally to ensure a waterproof seal. The cuffs have internal waterproof elasticated cuffs that fasten with poppers and the hem and the cuffs also have an extra strip of rubber attached for further weatherproofing. There are two internal straps to attach to the wearer's legs to ensure the coat remains in place when riding. Both armholes have five grommetts to allow for ventilation. It has a large back pleated vent to allow for extra movement when worn on a horse. The shoulders both have loops with buttons sewn at the neck for the attachment of police insignia.
