'In reply to your favour to hand, I have pleasure in submitting five dramatic stories for your consideration. Should these not prove suitable, we shall be pleased to submit a further selection. As you do not mention that a love interest is essential, we have not had this element in mind when selecting the enclosed. I am including 'The Revenge of Nance O'Carroll' as it is a particularly interesting and dramatic story, written by a rising authoress, in the hope that should you be unable to publish the story in two parts, you will allow us to condense it for you, which could easily be done. Trusting to have the pleasure of supplying you regularly with short stories and articles from our very large stock of same by writers of merit.'
