Scope and content

'Dear Mr Harvey, You will be surprised to hear from me after my long neglect of you.
Early last week in clearning up my desk I came across the opening (abt 1000 words) of a story I began for you & then had to put aside. Mr Davidson gave me the plot you may remember. Something induced me to finish the instalment and here it is. If you like it I could go on with it slowly - say an instalment every fortnight. I am sorry to appear to be making conditions and I would not bother you with the [?] at all only the plot is yours which precludes me from offering it elsewhere.
Another alternative - If you like the story but want to have it written yourself I would agree to you getting some other author to continue it - just buying the first no. from me. Any way I know from experience that [?] my past derelect[?] you will give the story your careful and [unbiased] consideration.'
