‘We have given very careful consideration to your story 'A Devil of a Woman' and consider it somewhat too sensational to use in any of our weekly papers. We might run it, however, in our evening paper 'The Evening Telegraph and Post' which circulates in the counties of Forfar, Fife and Perth, if you could give us the right to one serial use of the story for that district for £6?’
