Scope and content
Hard wearing, ankle high, work boots made from a brown leather. The boots have leather laces which thread through the seven pairs of eyelets. There is a steel toe cap and across each toe there is decorative perforations similar to those found on brogues. The boots have a chunky sole which is made from rubber.

Zug is a hardwearing type of leather that is known for its texture which resembles small pebbles or stones.
Note
The donor wore these boots when they worked as an agricultural labourer on a sheep farm, not far from Newcastleton in the Scottish Boarders in the 1970s.
