              Dark grey single breasted jacket with black cotton lining. It fastens centre front with three black plastic buttons with a crown and 'GPO' embossed on them (post 1952). It has an angled pocket on the left breast and two pockets on the waist with flaps. The right waist pocket has a change pocket in the lining. It has a buttonhole in the left lapel and two eylet holes underneath (for a badge). It has two short vents in the back seams. The manufacturers label is glued to the lining at the back.

              British Rail donkey jacket made of charcoal grey wool with black vinyl yoke. It has black and yellow vinyl strips around each cuff and fastens centre front with 4 silver coloured metal buttons with the British Rail logo embossed on them. It has two angled welted pockets at the front hips and is lined in black synthetic fabric. The factory label includes the name of the previous owner.

              Long sleeve khaki General Post Office workwear jacket with notch lapel. The button stand consists of three black pin head shank buttons with metal plate on the underside of the button stand and key ring to interchange the button components. The front body has two straight pocket flaps top stitched with matching khaki thread. there two further rows of top stitching across the waist on the front body, but this does not follow through into the back of the garment. the lapel is also finished with a 5 mm top stitch which continues down to the hem of the jacket. The collar is finished with red cord, which is also used on the top sleeve of the jacket and top stitched in red. the under sleeve is secured used a felled seam and hemmed with a 15 mm unturned hem. the jacket is unlined, exposing the inner construction. but there is a jetted pocket stitched into the right hand facing side of the jacket lapel. The cross back of the jacket is lined and finished with a baby overlocking stitch. The internal pocketing is made from the same material as the outer body of the jacket. There are three machine stitched eyelets under each arm hole and two eyelets on the front left chest. General Post Office

              Blue boiler suit with mitres breast patch pocket and two slanted trouser pockets at the suits hip. On the back facing of the slanted trouser pocket is a side slit pocket secured with a bar tack to the top. Five button boiler suit concealed front. ' PEX WEAR' is embossed onto metal shank buttons. There is one mitred patch pocket on the rear back right hand side of the boiller suit. there are two leg square patch pockets stitched into the trouser out seam at the thigh. Felled seams are used through out the boiler suit. An inner belt is stitched in the nape of the centre back. 'PEXWEAR' is part of John Peck and Co Ltd, and was designed and manufactured in Liverpool Pexwear

              Dark blue jersey or jumper made of knitted rough wool. It has a round neck and deep ribbed cuffs. The bottom edge has been finished by turning up a deep hem and machine stitching. It has woven blue cotton patches stitched to the underside of each shoulder. The white makers label is embroidered with the company name and the date, 1941, it also has 'HASLAM' handwritten on it in black ink. Size 2 I. H. & Co.

              Dark grey black rubberised cotton jacket or short coat. It has a turn down collar with a dark blue wool facing and is half lined in dark blue wool. It buttons centre front - the top black plastic button visible - with a wide concealed placket. There are two pockets at the waist with wide flaps. It has raglan sleeves and all of the seams are sealed or welded. Designer unknown

              Dark grey black rubberised trousers or overalls with integral braces. They are made of cotton coated with waterproofing. They have a draw cord waist with khaki coloured cotton tape and two large metal eyelets at the centre front. The integrated braces are cream cotton webbing and wide grey elastic attached to the trousers on each side of the centre front, crossing over to attach at the centre back.               Blue cotton twill General Post Office uniform jacket with red 'GPO' lettering embroidered on each collar. The jacket fastens centre front with five black plastic 'bullseye' removable buttons with wide stitched facings and has two large patch pockets at hip level on the front. It has two lengths of fabric stitched into the inside (seams visible from the outside) at a downward angle from each side of the front opening to the pockets - probably as strengthening for the pockets.

              The red lettering has been embroidered onto similar blue cotton as the main jacket and then the patches machine sewn onto the collar points. On the left chest are two stitched eyelet holes (for a badge). It has a hanging loop in the back of the neck. Run and fell double stitched seams, no back centre seam or vents. No labels - there are remnants of stitching on the inside where the labels would have been sewn.

              Jacket from three piece wool tweed workwear suit with cotton lining. The wool tweed is dark grey herringbone twill with widely set one thread stripes in red and green. The jacket is single breasted with notched collar and lapels that have been topstitched. It fastens with three black plastic buttons, has a welted angled breast pocket and two rounded flapped pockets at the hips. No back vent. It is lined in dark grey cotton twill with the sleeves in plain cream cotton. There is an inside jetted chest pocket to the right side of the lining, a smaller jetted chest pocket to the left side and a large jetted pocket with button closure across the left inside lining at waist level. Label sewn to the right inner pocket. Tuff as Steel
