Note
Part of a Second World War Demob suit. Issued to a man on his demobilisation from the British and allied armed services after the Second World War. Due to clothes rationing, they would not have been able to buy a suit or enough clothing to replace their military wardrobe, and a demob suit was issued to aid re entering civilian life. The suit was offered as part of a package, including extra clothing coupons, cigarette coupons, rail travel allowance, underwear, shirt, hat, shoes and a raincoat.
