Arthur Gledhill was a gentleman's tailors, outfitters, hatters and hosiers. They were at 2-4 Crown Street at the junction with Princess Street, Halifax [1916, 1922, 1938]. Partners included Arthur Gledhill {1876-nd] and his brother James Gledhill [1881-nd].

Black silk plush top hat with a wide black wool band around the crown. The lower part of the lining of the crown is a band of white leather with a section of square cut holes at the back with a length of cream silk ribbon threaded through for adjustment. The top of the lining is in cream silk, the top of the inside of the crown is cream moire silk and is printed in black with a makers label.
