Nous avons eu pluie hier presque toute la journée ; que ne puis vous en envoyer un peu ? Vous permettez que je vous fasse attendre ! Adieu E.N.'
[I am staying longer than I had imagined. So I will not be arriving on Wednesday evening at Crosmières. I will write to you from Dijon when I get there to let you know which day and time I will arrive in Crosmières. We have had rain here nearly all day; if only I could send you some?
