            Silk waistcoat with a shawl collar. Waistcoat is double breasted and fastens at the front via four black, glass buttons two on each side. Each button is functional and fastens through a buttonhole on the opposing side of the waistcoat opening. The black silk used at the front of the waistcoat has a vertical stripe patterned stitched into it, also in black. The repeating pattern consists of a 3mm pinstripe, followed by three lines of thinner, broken stipes [each line that makes up these broken stripes is 0.5cm in length], followed by another 3mm pinstripe. The reverse of the waistcoat is made from plain, black silk. On the reverse, there are two long tabs at the waist made in the same fabric for adjustment using an ornately designed metal buckle. The inside of the waistcoat is lined in cotton. The hemline of the waistcoat is lower at the front than at the back. The front hem is slightly rounded.             Single breasted jacket [or tunic] in a blue / black woollen fabric. Jacket is front fastening via eight gilt brass buttons, each featuring the Royal Artillery insignia. Jacket has a standup collar which is faced with a red woollen fabric with gold lace stitched on top. The edges of the collar are piped in gold braid and there is a silver threadwork badge that sits on either side of the collar depicting an exploding grenade for the Royal Artillery. Both the edges of the front opening and the hem are piped with red wool. Each shoulder of the jacket is decorated with plaited gold braid topped with badges that denote the rank of the wearer [Colonel]. Each sleeve is ornately decorated with gold braid [known as frogging], from the cuff to just below the elbow. There is a seam that runs the horizontally around the circumference of the jacket at the waist. At the centre of the jacket at the reverse there are two buttons that sit 6cm apart on the waist seam with thin stripes of red piping running vertically down from these to the hem. The inside of the jacket is lightly quilted at the chest and back. Cream sateen fabric is used above the waistband to line the jacket with black sateen from the waistband to the hem. 无标题的

            Thigh length, single breasted tunic [or jacket] in red wool. Tunic has a high neck and a standing collar that is faced with a khaki green woollen fabric and edged with silver braid and lace. Each side of the collar features the regimental insignia which is constructed using braid. Tunic fastens at the front via eight, ornate, domed, metal buttons [tarnished] and the collar with a double hook and eye fastening. The tunic is lightly tailored with the buttons stopping at the waist seam which runs the circumference of the tunic. At either side of the front opening there is a horizontal in seam pocket. The chest panel is slightly quilted to give a rounded shape. The cuff of each sleeve is faced in a khaki wool, matching the collar, with an ornate, silver lace and braid design [known as frogging] that finishes just before the elbow on each arm. The lining of the tunic is slightly quilted with panels of a cream woollen fabric as well as a cream twill. The internal waistband is constructed from a red leather and fastens via two concealed hook and eye fastenings. To the reverse, the skirt of the tunic has a type of box pleat [known as a sword pleat] at the centre, featuring two buttons, identical to those on the front, and white piping. At the reverse there is also a metal hook on the waistband which would have been used to hold a type of pouch known as a sabretache. 无标题的

            Tailcoat made from an olive green wool. As with the traditional tailcoat design, the front of the coat is cut away and stops just around waist length. The skirt of the coat at the rear is split and has has two tapering sections or 'tails.' These finish at approximately knee length. The coat is double breasted with a black velvet collar with pointed lapels. Fastening at the front, there are six gilt, metal buttons [not original] and four metal, shank buttons covered in black and olive green silk brocade. There are three gilt buttons and two fabric covered buttons on either side of the opening, which fasten through button holes on the opposing side of the opening. The coat is unlined. 无标题的

            Black wool facecloth double breasted frock coat with stand collar. It features small goldwork embroidered crosses with red wool interiors on each collar and two larger crosses of the same design on each cuff. These crosses are the badges for a Sir Knight rank. It has two rows of seven wool shank buttons down the front with two rows of matching button holes - damage to the wool covering of the buttons, especially on the right side. Three smaller wool shank buttons on each cuff with two buttons at the centre waist on the back above the tail pleats and two at the bottom of the pleats. It is lined in black cotton sateen. There is a vertical pocket in the left chest lining (with stitching evidence of a missing tailors label) and two pockets in the coat tails (lined in chintz cotton).

There is an angled, welted breast pocket on the left side of the chest. Flat pockets are on either side of the waist Above the waist pocket on the left side is a smaller, welted pocket [likely for a pocket watch].
