Biographical history
Miss W Hester was a member of the Polytechnic Rambling Club and was regularly the accompanist at the Club's annual dinner and dance in the 1930s. The Polytechnic Magazine in July 1945 announces the marriage of Winnie Hester and Freddie Ball (believed to be F Ball who was Secretary of the PRC 1925-1933 and then active member of the Old Members' Association). No reference to Winnie is found after 1945, although Fred Ball continues to be mentioned in the Polytechnic Magazine until February 1960.
