1. P. Wells congratulating Ron Pavitt after the latter had set a new native english record of 6 foot, 6 inches in the high jump. The event was an international athletics match between London and Gothenburg, held at White City on the 6th August 1949.
2. Valdu Lillakas and Jimmy Wood in 2nd and 3rd respectively during a 3 mile run at Chiswick on the 18th June 1949.
