1. A Polytechnic Harriers runner, possibly Barry Jones, wearing shirt number nine. 2. Alex Mineyko, wearing number nine, just ahead of John Snowden of Surry AC. 3. Petty Officer Philip Hampton of the Royal Navy Athletic Club, 34 years of age, with the Callard and Bowser Trophy. He won the Polytechnic Marathon held on the 14th June 1969, despite a general temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit. His time was 2 hours, 25 minutes and 22 seconds. To the right of the picture is Sir Eric Studd, President of the Polytechnic Harriers.
