1. A typed list of contents that has later been crossed out. This was added and signed by ‘David Crosfield, a member of the Polytechnic Harriers,’ and the date given as 10 November 1975.

2. A press cutting taken from ‘Sporting Life’ magazine. This short article relates to the fledgling club’s first paper chase held on 13 October 1883. This article describes a 5 mile run attended by thirty members of the Polytechnic Harriers. It lists the runners and the events highlights. The article makes reference to the glorious weather of the week before, on 6 October 1883 when the club’s 7.5 mile opening run took place, attended by twenty members.
