Broken diamond shape, with central enamel circle in pale blue with a dark blue and gold centre - 'Polytechnic Harriers' and St George and the dragon. Engraved on verso: J D Mattingley, S.C.R.W.C. 1910
Hallmarked - Birmingham, 1885 and Vaughton. The case is also labelled Vaughtons Ltd, Birmingham.

Mattingley walked for the Harriers in the Southern Counties Road Walking Championships of May 1910.
He finished first for the Poly's 4-man team (in 4th place). Full report in the Polytechnic Magazine:
