            Olive green wool coat liner with large cotton patch pockets to the front, vertical pocket access slits and cut-outs under each arm. The sleeves and top half of the body are lined in olive satin rayon or viscose which also trims the cut-out and slits. United States Army

            Single breasted tunic made from a red, felted wool. The tunic has a small standing collar with a hook and eye fastening; and is made from a reinforced felt, trimmed with gold ribbon. On each side of the collar there gold, domed button which is decorated with a map of the world. Gold braid surrounds these buttons. The tunic is front fastening via eight, ornate, gold domed buttons, each of which have a different design [including Royal Corps of Signals; Royal Engineers; Royal Army Ordinance Corps; Royal Army Medical Corps; Royal Munster Fusiliers]. The tunic is lightly tailored with slight flaring of the short skirts. the buttons stop at the waist seam which runs the circumference of the tunic. The chest panel is slightly quilted to give a rounded shape. The tunic has long sleeves with a mariner’s cuff that features a black slash, edged in white piping. The cuff has three, gold, domed buttons decorated with the words 'Royal Marines Light Infantry' and a crest with an anchor and crown. The cuffs has faux buttonholes are outlined with gold ribbon. At the reverse there is also a metal hook on the waistband which would have been used to hold a type of pouch known as a sabretache. There are also six slightly smaller, gold domed buttons, embellished with the Royal Marines Light Infantry crest and white piping in the same style as the cuffs. Inside, the tunic is lined.             Double breasted, black, wool overcoat with peaked lapels, each with a single buttonhole. At either side of the waist there is a jetted pocket with a flap. Four black buttons sit at the front. Inside the right pocket there is a smaller horizontal, watch pocket. At the reverse, there is a vent that runs up from the hem to just below waist level. Inside, the coat is lined in a black satin fabric across the shoulders, with the remainder lined in a dark green and white tartan.             Singled breasted jacket made from a woollen fabric in a brown and cream Jacob Tweed. The jacket has notch lapels [with a buttonhole on the left lapel] and is front fastening via two brown, plastic buttons. On the left side of the chest there is a welted breast pocket and there is a jetted, flap pocket on either side of the waist. To the reverse of the jacket there is a vent. The jacket is lined with a brown, satin fabric. There is a jetted pocket on the inside of the chest on the right hand side. Unknown

            French workers jacket in faded blue with three patch pockets and repaired with extensive areas of hand stitched mending and darning. It fastens with five black plastic buttons with a single button on each cuff. It has an internal right pocket with top stitching. It has been repaired all over, predominantly at places of wear; the collar, cuffs, right pocket, and internal breast pocket. The hand stitching has been carried out in varying shades of blue and features a whip stitch along the centre front and cuffs with a darning technique used elsewhere. Designer unknown

            Cream and white distressed heavy cotton canvas bomber style jacket with black neoprene bands at cuffs, collar and hem. It was garment dyed before being finished and lined. Fastens centre front with a heavy black zip and has two pouched pockets on the chest, one on each side of the zip. Lined in white quilted lining stitched in an on-point diamond pattern.

            Lightweight trench coat with detatchable belt made of polyester and nylon fabric, garment dyed beige, which has been overprinted in a check pattern in olive green, brown and a fine blue windowpane check. The finished garment has been printed using a sublimation print, a heat transfer printing process, so where it was creased or covered (such as under the collar) has not been printed. It has a turn down collar that fastens at the centre front with a metal hook and eye. The coat buttons down the front with five cream plastic buttons with 'C.P. Company' on them. On the right breast is a shoulder guard which buttons and each shoulder has a buttoning epaulette. The cuffs are trimmed with a strap that fastens with a pewter coloured metal buckle. The belt fastens with a pewter coloured metal buckle and has a small buttoning tab to attach it to one of the belt loops. It has two vertical welted buttoning pockets at the hips and a vent in the centre back. The inside has a partial lining in the same fabric as the coat to part way down the chest and the seam edges are all bound. It has a C.P. Company label at the back of the neck and at the inside bottom right. The care label is inside the right hand pocket.
