Scope and content
The numbering refers to the original location when the collection was held at the Marylebone Road campus. The collection has since been moved to the University Archive. Until such time as the archive is professionally catalogued, this box/item number system has been retained for location purposes.
The set of newspaper cutting books in boxes 15 & 16 were compiled by ML's next door neighbour at 8 Victoria Square and she also typed these index books. Books 1 (Armagh) and 2 (Australia) are missing at this first trawl but could well be elsewhere in the archive and when found should be joined with this set. The typist did not have complete access to all the files so these books are not necessarily a complete coverage of their subjects. ML was a fanatic keeper of press cuttings and the rest of the archive should be searched so that these books do become as complete a record as possible of ML's considerable press cover over the years.
