Scope and content

Typescript extract dated March 1957, of a letter from Quintin Hogg to Alfred Aitken, 22nd December 1887: 'The more you learn to regard the Poly as a second home and those you meet as members of one family, bound to yourself by memories of kindness and affection given and received, the more fully will you realise the desires of my heart for this place. I want its tone, its instruction, its Christianity to be such as you can be proud to endorse.'
