Administrative history
A Golfing Society was first proposed at the Polytechnic in April 1923, but this seems to be a false start, as the magazine for June 1935 records a meeting of the Golfing Society to agree its rules and elect its President (Sir Kynaston Studd). From then on the club, which included a women's section, reported news consistently until 1940, when activities cease due to the war. Ladies Golf quickly re-started in 1945, but the men had to start afresh in 1946 with a new club. The clubs continued to flourish until at least 1960, with golf offered by PCLSU until at least 1980.
