To advise the Court of Governors on the financial implications of matters concerning the Polytechnic; to consider and recommend the Polytechnic's annual financial plans, funding proposals and annual budgets.
To consider/review/recommend to the Court of Governors financial regulations for the operation of the Polytechnic.
To authorise on behalf of the Court of Governors, within the scope of financial regulations; to make amendments to the budget.
To ensure adequate financial appraisal of projects of capital expenditure.
To keep under review the Polytechnic's portfolio of property holdings.
To approve/recommend strategic measures for making the best use of property holdings.
To authorise and recommend tuition and other fees payable to the Polytechnic; to approve applications for research grants.
To receive regular reports and review progress of revenue budgets, cash flows and capital projects.
To carry out commission reviews of specific areas of operation of the Polytechnic in relation to effective and economic management of resources.

2020 Terms of reference:
Advise the Court of Governors on strategic matters related to the human, financial, digital and physical resources of the University
Review and recommend, where appropriate, to the Court and the Digital Strategy and People Strategy and policies required to deliver the Strategy.
Monitor the impact of activities ot deliver equity and inclusivity and eradicate racism and harassment within our University.
Consider and recommend, where appropriate, to the Court the University's annual financial statements, financial regulations, financial plans, funding proposals and annual budgets. Receive monthly management accounts reports
Authorise, on behalf of the Court and within the scope of financial regulations, amendments to annual budgets, tuition and other fees payable to the University, applications for research grants, major projects.
Ensure adequate financial and cultural appraisal of projects of capital expenditure.
Keep under review the University's portfolio of property holdings, recommend to the Court strategic measures for making the best use of the University's property holdings. Authorise, on behalf of the Court and within the scope of financial regulations, acquisitions and disposals of property.
Carry out and commission reviews of specific areas of operation of the University in relation to effective and economic management of resources.
Make recommendations to the Court regarding any changes to the framework for salaries, rewards and conditions of employment for the University's employees and to review the effectiveness of this framework under review, reporting to the Court on implementation of changes as appropriate.
Review the conduct of employee relations within the University.
Make recommendations to the Court on employee regulations made under the Articles of Association relating to appointments, conduct, discipline, dismissals and the handling of grievances.
