It is constructed with flat fell seams and has no shoulder seams . The sleeve seams form a diamond shaped underarm gusset. It has a curved hem, longer at the back and gussets at the side seams.

Variegated cream wool knitted jersey underwear short sleeve top in the style of a T-shirt. It has a high round neck and wide knitted ribbing bands around the bottom of the sleeves and the hem. Wool yarn is cream with areas of pale grey creating a fine uneven variegated stripe effect in the knit. The top is constructed with butted flat seams in cream thread. Makers label in the back of the neck with the British military broad arrow.

T-shirt style cotton underwear top with a three button opening at the neck. The top is made of cream or off-white knitted cotton jersey with a fleecy surface to the underside. The round neck opening has been created by cutting a hole into the top of the garment (no shoulder seams) and then the cut part has been sewn into the back of the neck and finished with zig-zag stitching. The three button opening at the centre front has been reinforced with woven cotton and the buttons are white plastic. The short sleeves and bottom hem are finished with ribbing.

White lightweight woven cotton 'athletic union suit' underwear. It is a one-piece garment, sleeveless with a V-neck and scoop back, opens down the centre front and fastens with five white buttons. There is a flap opening at the back which fastens with one white button. Inserted at the back waist is cream cotton knitted jersey rib with two wide belt loops, the straps of the vest part are made of white cotton knitted jersey ribbing. Between the top and second button has been printed with 'PAT' and numbers (indecipherable). Makers label in the back of the neck.

Cream wool knit underwear with cream calico cotton yoke. The underwear fastens centre front with three cream plastic buttons and has two attached cotton straps on each side of the waist for adjustment. They are fitted and come down to mid thigh with a deep rib knit band around the hem and a gusset at the crotch. There are scratch marks on the buttons and some stains. They are stamped in black ink on the left back waist: WOMBWELL & Co. LTD / 39" / 1941

Pair of cream cotton knitted jersey underwear shorts with elasticated waistband and CC41 logo printed on the upper right front leg. The elasticated waistband has two fine blue stripes around the top edge. There is an opening at the fly with no fastenings and a square shaped gusset at the crotch.

Pair of white cotton boxer shorts with a wide double layered waist band which fastens centre front with three white plastic buttons. On each side of the waistband are white cotton tape ties which have been sewn in the centre - they loop through two eyelet holes to tighten the waist. The fly below the buttons is open. The back of the shorts are made of three panels, the seams are run and fell with double stitching. Stamped inside the back waist is '32' in black ink. Possibly military deadstock.

Cream cotton knitted cotton jersey full length underwear (bottom half of the body). They have a button fly which fastens with three white plastic buttons (visible) above an opening. The waist is lined in white woven cotton and has lengths of white cotton tape sewn around the outside. They have a diamond shaped insert at the crotch and wide rib knit bands around the ankles. Unworn new old stock. Label in the centre back inside waist with the Utility CC41 mark.
