The loose-leaf comics portray Liu Shaoqi as a traitor and scab in the service of the imperialists and modern revisionists. The comics ironically depict Liu Shaoqi as a witch doctor, a skinny and evil shopkeeper who sells all kinds of junk, the king of hell with his accomplice Deng Xiaoping who are against the Cultural Revolution, and an evil owl that hates the People's Commune Movement but cannot see the daylight, as Mao Zedong is portrayed as the "sun".
