Huang Daopo, a Song dynasty weaver, ran away from hometown Songjiang after she was sold into marriage at a young age. She went to Hainan where she learnt spinning and weaving from the local Li people. She eventually returned to Songjiang, bringing with her new technology, which made her hometown famous for textiles. Background: traditional Chinese blue & white textile design.
