5 emphasises, 4 beauties" (五讲四美) was a policy introduced in 1981 to promote the education and public activism. The 5 emphasises refer to civity, politeness, hygiene, order and morality. The Four Beauties refer to the beauty of the spirit, the language, behaviour and the environment. In 1983 3 loves were added which were love for the motherland, socialism and the Communist Party. The poster shows a series of images of groups of children demonstrating good behaviour.
