Enormous flies landing on lavatories and dustbins and then onto food. At the bottom on the psoter is a sick woman with an anxious doctor. Text above image sayd Flies eat nightsoil and refuse and then eat rice. People who eat that rice will become sick and die’ (蝇食粪及垃圾便食饭。人食其饭便病一死!) Handwritten inscription on poster by John S Willis, in Hong Kong, April 1947. Willis has translated the Chinese into English.
