The first of two volumes dedicated to the study of the Ancient Buildings of Rome. It contains a Preface to the Edition, followed by the description of each building listed, then a suite of original etchings of measured elevations, plans, sections and other drawings. Buildings included: Pantheon; Temple of Bacchus; Temple of Faunus, at Rome; Temple of Vesta, at Rome; Temple of Vesta, at Tivoli; Temple of Fortuna Virilis, at Rome; Temple of Peace, at Rome; Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, at Rome; Temple of Concord, at Rome; Temple of Jupiter Stator, at Rome; Temple of Jupiter the Thunderer, at Rome; Temple of Mars the Avenger, at Rome.
