The first volume of a series of books on general architecture. It consists of books I-V comprising numerous chapters on preparatory studies of architecture (drawing tools and techniques), general principles (composition, proportions), architectural elements (walls, doors, windows, roofs, attics, vaults, staircases). The texts are accompanied by various drawings, photographs, plans, elevations and sections, some to scale. The fourth book is dedicated to architectural orders such as: Antique, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian and Toscan.
