Scope and content

Olive drab cotton trousers with grey / brown alpaca pile lining. Trousers fasten centre front with a button fly of four plastic buttons [One button has been replaced and does not match]. At the waistband there are five plastic buttons for braces to be worn and nine belt loops which enable a belt to be worn. At either side of the waist, there are two, vertical in seam pockets with a button down flap. On the left thigh there is a patch pocket with a flap [the pocket would have originally have buttoned closed but this button is missing]. Two flap pockets with button fastenings sit at the rear [with the right button missing]; and at either ankle there is also a pocket with a button down flap [damage to the pocket on the left side]. There are tabs at the cuffs that fasten with two buttons so that the trousers sit tightly and securely at the ankle.
