Brown leather belt with a cross body, supporting strap that passes over the right shoulder. The belt is adjustable, with a large, brass buckle with two prongs that fastens the belt around the waist. A belt loop and stud then holds the strap in place. There is a brass hook and three 'D Rings' on the belt which can be used for attaching equipment [such as 2022.36.12]. A thinner strap, adjustable by a buckle, is attached to the top of the belt and is worn diagonally across the body.

Takes it's name from 19th Century British Army General Sir Samuel J. Browne who invented the belt to hold his equipment, following injuries he sustained in battle.
