Administrative history

Creations Fischer was a tailoring company and manufacturer primarily of menswear. It was started in Paris by Georges Fischer (1924-2021), a Jewish Hungarian tailor who had served his tailoring apprenticeship in Budapest as a teenager. After the Second World War he went to France as a refugee and worked for raincoat company Jupiter.

Creations Fischer had its main office and factory in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, at the foot of Montmartre, and a tailoring factory 300km outside of Paris in Buzançais. They sold direct to stores in the French capital, one of their first clients was the high-end Parisian menswear store Arnys. Dior approached Georges Fischer when they wanted to set up a menswear line in the late 1960s and he designed and manufactured Christian Dior Monsieur. He then also created menswear and tailoring for other companies including Givenchy, Charvet, and Hermès.
