Savile Row tailor Stovel & Mason was incorporated in 1927, but was in existence before that date (they advertised as a military tailor in 1914). It is unclear exactly when the company dissolved but in 2005 its premises at 32 Old Burlington Street were taken over by Anderson & Sheppard.

Scope and content

Single breasted brown wool pinstripe tailored waistcoat (part of a bespoke three piece suit). The waistcoat has a wide turn down collar and lapels. It fastens centre front with six brown buttons, has four welted pockets and pointed fronts. The back is made of brown rayon and has two wide tabs of the same material which fasten with a black coated metal buckle with two prongs.
