Scope and content
Pair of faded black cotton trousers with vertical red and white stripes down each outside leg . The stripes have been created by sashiko stitching with three lines of red stitching flanked by one line of white stitching on each side. They have belt loops and a separate black waist tie. They fasten with a metal zip fly with 'YZIP' engraved on the tab and a metal hook and bar fastening with 'DEPONIRT' on the bar and 'TRADE MARK' and a three pointed crown on the hook. There are two front side hip pockets with vertical openings. Designed to be worn by firemen for fire fighting, mid twentieth century (Showa period).
