Scope and content
The navy jersey track pants are high waisted with contrasting pockets and fly details. The wide waistband folds over on the left hand side to sit slightly lower than the right side and continues into a loose knitted bone coloured fly piece that has been sewn into the centre crotch seam. The pockets sit low down and feature a contrasting textured cotton used for the pocket bags and side panels above them. The leg seams run down the back middle instead of the sides and are finished with bone coloured wide knitted cuffs. The back features panels below the waistband that make an arrow formation. There are two cream plastic buttons sewn onto the back waistband for the attachment of braces.

Westwood and McLaren’s Autumn Winter 1983 Witches collection was an eclectic mix of global influences combined with innovative pattern cutting that created a new language for both fashion and sportswear. It brought together Keith Haring’s New York graffiti art, Haitian voodoo culture, and East Tennessee square dancing.
