      BLACK DINNER JACKET
      Vivienne Westwood
      1990-1995

Before launching her MAN collections in 1996, Vivienne Westwood created several suits for hairstylist Sam McKnight. McKnight would select from fabrics for Westwood’s womenswear, and they were then tailored into suits for him.

      DOUBLE-BREASTED JACKET
      Vivienne Westwood
      1990–5
In the 1990s, hairstylist Sam McKnight worked on many of Vivienne Westwood’s runway shows. This jacket is part of a collection of suits that Westwood designed for McKnight using fabrics that he selected from her womenswear collections, predating the 1996 introduction of Westwood’s MAN menswear collection label. The double-breasted black wool dinner jacket has exaggerated black satin peak lapels. There are six buttons covered in satin on the front and three on each cuff. It has two flap pockets with jetted flaps, a ticket pocket on the right flap and two angled welt pockets. It has an internal jetted pocket on each side and a double back vent.
