Administrative history

Company founder Åke Nordin was born in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. In 1950 he created his own backpack with a wooden frame. Ten years later he launched his first product for sale, a backpack with an aluminium frame. Through the 1960s and 1970s the company expanded the product range to include tents, sleeping bags, jackets and trousers such as the Greenland Jacket, the Expedition Down Jacket and the Kånken backpack. In 2017 the company created Bergtagen, a mountaineering collection.
