LEATHER GILET JACKET
C.P. Company
1982
C.P. Company's Autumn Winter 1982 collection was inspired by a vintage Dutch motorcycle jacket. It featured a range of modular outerwear with removable sleeves and collars, in combinations of knitwear, leather, suede and canvas. This inbuilt functionality became a core identity for the brand and led to further innovations in later collections such as the Urban Protection range and the Transformables collection.

HYBRID G-1/B-10 JACKET
C.P. Company
Autumn Winter 1982
C.P. Company’s Autumn Winter 1982 collection featured a series of modular outerwear garments with removable sleeves and collars in knitwear, leather, suede and canvas combinations. Massimo Osti was known for drawing inspiration from his extensive military archive, and the jacket is reminiscent of the US Navy’s G-1 leather flying jacket, which featured large flap pockets
and a shearling collar, as well as the US Army Air Forces’ B-10 cotton flying jacket. The sleeves on this jacket can be removed, transforming it into a gilet, and the sheepskin collar can also be detached. The leather C.P. Company logo is embossed on the lower front. This functionality and hybridity became a defining characteristic of the brand, inspiring subsequent innovations such as the Urban Protection and Transformables ranges.
