            MK1 Dispatch Riders helmet made by BMB [Briggs Motor Bodies] of Dagenham. Metal shell which has extensive all-over rust. Cream cotton canvas webbing liner straps with padded coarse wool felt liner for additional stability. Tan leather support inside the crown and dark brown leather ear flaps and support at the back of the head which are lined in beige wool flannel with two cream wool felt pieces to cover the ears. This is adjustable by lacing via eight metal eyelet holes with separate black cotton lace. The thin leather chin strap fastens with a metal buckle and is broken away from the right ear flap.

            Long full white heavy twill cotton shorts. They are high waisted with a wide waistband. The waistband is a channel with two vertical openings on either side of the centre button fastening, and two of the same openings on either side of the centre back, for a belt or tie to be threaded through. They fasten with two buttons at the waistband and a three button fly. Two vertical inset pockets at the hips and four pleats in the front - two on each side. The legs have wide turn up hems which are machine sewn. Label in the back of the waistband. Bukta

            Waterproof coat made from a black PVC oilskin material. Coat has a short collar which is lined with a black wool. Coat fastens at the front via three, brown buttons on a concealed button placket [one button missing] and a fourth which is visible just below the collar on the right side. Two patch pockets with flaps are found to the front. The coat has a straight sleeve with no cuff and a rear vent which fastens with a single button. Royal Navy

            One piece, combination overalls in a dark blue cotton fabric. Overalls have long sleeves, a standup collar and are front fastening via eight, flat, brass buttons. There is a patch pocket on the left side of the chest which fastens with another flat, brass button. At either side of the waist there is a vertical, in seam pocket. At the back of the overalls there is a long, thin, patch pocket at the top of the left leg. There is a cinch fastening across the waist at the back of the overalls. Royal Navy

            Light blue top made of fine knit Celanese (rayon) jersey with zip-opening. The top has short sleeves and pointed turn down collar. The front opening at the neck has a silver coloured metal zip and the pull is inscribed with 'LIGHTENING'. It has side splits and the CC41 label is sewn into the left side seam near the bottom.             White cotton shorts with red trim on hems and sides and an elasticated waistband. Two cream / white buttons sit at the waist in the centre. A square internal pocket is sewn into the shorts on the inside of the right waist. Each side of the short has an opening slit of about 4cm [to increase leg room for movement].             Dark blue wool serge bell bottom sailor trousers with blue and white striped cotton linking around the inside waist. The name 'E. F. ELLIOTT' has been stencilled on in black ink in two places, one of which has been embroidered over in scarlet thread. The trousers fasten with a fall front - flaps and buttons. The first layer consists of two flaps that come in and fasten together on the front of the trousers, these include a small pocket for the wearer to store a watch or pocket handkerchief. This layer is covered with a second fall flap that folded up and down. This being secured with four black buttons at the waist. The trouser legs measure between 12"-13" at the knee and between 12"-14" at the ankle.

            Royal Navy Second World War uniform made up of three pieces - the white short sleeve tunic, the collar and the navy wool jumper. The collar is blue denim with a white and blue stripe trim around the edge and is backed in white and blue cotton. It has long ties to attach around the wearer's chest. It has 'P. R. Prosser' (owner's name) printed on the rear side. The white tunic has a square neck and short sleeves. The serge wool jumper is the top layer with a deep V-neck to accommodate the collar.
